Joy Wasendorf
Joy is the kind of person who contemplates the answer before asking the question. Clients and co-workers alike would describe her as strategic, analytical, detail-oriented and energetic. One of the luminaries of CIG, Joy brings nearly 30 years of experience developing and managing public information programs with a focus on large transportation and civil engineering projects that impact numerous stakeholder groups.
Her strengths lie in developing strategic outreach and engagement plans, converting complex concepts into easy-to-understand narratives and helping clients sharpen their media relations and crisis communication skills.
Joy currently supports various large and small planning, design and construction projects for the Colorado Department of Transportation, local municipalities and independent contracting firms.
Before joining CIG, Joy worked for the Kiewit Construction Company, where she managed public outreach programs associated with large design-build projects for the Missouri Department of Transportation and Texas Department of Transportation. During her tenure with Kiewit, Joy was also responsible for developing and implementing various public information and public engagement efforts for Denver’s $1.67 billion multimodal Transportation Expansion (T-REX) Project.
