Drew Howland

Patient and intentional, Drew listens, understands, then acts. With Midwest roots and values, he lives and breathes hard work while cultivating genuine interactions with everyone he meets.

Drew’s experience also includes work on the Colorado Department of Transportation’s (CDOT) safety campaigns including The Heat is On, Click It or Ticket, Drugged Driving, Distracted Driving and Winter Wise. Throughout each of these outreach programs, Drew worked closely with CDOT staff to develop strategic messages that resonated with target audiences. This includes the recent “A Common Bond” Click It or Ticket campaign which sought to unify Coloradans around seat belt usage. Drew also led the overhaul of CDOT’s Cannabis Conversation and Winter Wise campaign websites.

Drew has supported a wide variety of public relations and public information accounts with a focus on public education campaigns. He worked with Progressive Urban Management Associates on the East Colfax Neighborhood Plans. He was part of the ongoing effort by the City of Denver and others to engage the general public through neighborhood meetings. These targeted workshops allow the communities affected to give their feedback about the city planning process and changes that directly impact their daily lives.

Prior to joining CIG, Drew spent a year interning at CDOT’s headquarters. He assisted the communications office in a variety of initiatives including running the internal communications efforts for CDOT’s nearly 3,000 employees.
