CIG’s Diva participates in stiletto run to support AIDS Walk Colorado

Denver, Colo. — August 13, 2011 — What's 0.5 kilometers? Well, when you are in three-inch heels – it is the longest run of your life.

CIG’s Liz Viscardi participated in the half-K Diva Dash Stiletto Fun Run following the AIDS Walk Colorado in August. While she didn’t crush the competition beneath her pumps, she did cross the finish line with both heels, and ankles, intact. As an added bonus, the start of the race was captured by a photographer for The Denver Post (Viscardi’s in the middle in the white shorts).

The Diva Dash, open to both men and women, is an annual event at the AIDS Walk Colorado in Cheesman Park. The rules are simple: one, have a minimum of three-inch heels; and two, you must cross the finish line without breaking a heel. However, if you aren’t the speediest runner, you can still compete for a prize for the most diva-licious shoes or highest heels.

“Despite the pain I had in the days following, I believe I have found my new hobby,” said Viscardi. “But next year I am striving for the most Diva-licious heels award – so watch out!”

Viscardi participated in an 80-yard stiletto run at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in September to support Stop Child Trafficking Now. She participated in the race alongside her sister, Leslie. While she once again didn’t win the race, she did win best shoes, which got her a well-deserved pedicure.
