Before you see smoke
We’ve recently seen a heavy haze hanging in our Colorado skies from a number of wildfires in our state and to our north in Wyoming. It is a crisis for those in the path of the fire and for those already living with the aftermath. It made me begin to think about how we deal with “fires” in the business world. How do we prepare before we see smoke?
A crisis communications plan is designed to ensure accurate information flows both within the organization and to external audiences. It eases the flow of information, which can help make better decisions and protect—and even enhance— your organization’s reputation.
But it isn’t just about the communication; it is about the leadership. You have to have the foresight to spend resources to prepare and to step up to manage when a crisis erupts. You can’t let it smolder. We all know what happens then and the outcomes are never good.
CIG’s professionals can help your business prepare for a crisis before you see “smoke.”

I hope I would never see smoke in my life. And I don’t wish it for nobody.
