Mary Ann Strombitski
Mary Ann Strombitski is a Communication Director with CIG and primarily supports RTD’s FasTracks Public Information/Involvement team. She brings more than 30 years of progressive public relations and marketing communications leadership expertise in a variety of industries including transportation, education policy, high tech, petrochemical and financial services.
Mary Ann earned both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communications from the University of Oklahoma. Her undergraduate major focused on public relations, while her graduate degree emphasized media management. She carries a professional Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA).
Her professional experience includes strategic communication leadership posts with two Fortune 500 firms, one Fortune 50 company and one of the top 100 U.S. nonprofits.
Mary Ann lives with her husband, daughter and bull terrier in Brighton.
Michelle Carnes
Michelle is a professional graphic artist with 20 years experience who possesses a vast knowledge of all aspects of design and production. Michelle has overseein major advertising campaigns, corporate identities, marketing collateral and publications for clients such as T-REX, RTD FasTracks, The City of Thornton and Brighton, The Denver Zoo and Coors Brewing Company, among others. Her talents also extend to photography, talent direction, printing/prepress, photo manipulation/color correction, and freehand illustration. Michelle earned her degree at the Art Institute of Colorado and has also studied at the Art Institute of Chicago.
Terri Atmore
Serving as CIG’s Office Manager, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Vice President of Organization and the office “Mother Hen,” Terri clearly wears many hats. Originally from Southern California and Texas and educated at Texas Tech University, Terri brings a range of skills and interests that are invaluable to the CIG team. By day you’ll find her as the friendly voice of CIG, but weekend nights are another story as she pursues one of her other pastimes—working as a manager at The Landmark Theatre Greenwood Village. An avid film aficionado, Terri works at the theatre for the free film viewing privileges. She’s also a regular at the Telluride Film Festival. If you ask, she has some great stories to tell. Terri’s past employment experience includes bookkeeping and social work with the Muscular Dystrophy Association as well as management with Landmark Theatres.
Terri lives in Lakewood.
Liz Viscardi
Liz serves as Account Coordinator working primarily on the RTD FasTracks account.
After earning her degree in journalism and technical communication with public relations concentration and business administration minor, Liz joined a local construction company’s public information team and gained experience in media relations, event planning, Web site development and community relations.
While attending CSU, Liz worked as promotions intern for Regent Communications in Windsor, Colo., and was a member of the public relations team for the Colorado High School Press Association, where she gained valuable insight into the field of public relations and marketing communication.
Liz’s attention to detail has proven to be a valuable asset as she focuses much of her time working behind the scenes on a variety of accounts.
Liz lives in Denver with her husband, Chris; dog, Ree; and cat, Madden.
Laurie Meza
Laurie Meza has the distinct honor of being the first employee hired by CIG. She serves as a Communication Director, managing a variety of clients.
After receiving her degree in journalism and technical communication with a public relations emphasis from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Laurie joined the world of construction marketing and public relations. She worked for several large scale general contractors before joining the T-REX Project’s public information team.
As one of two public information manager’s on the team, Laurie provided strategic communications for businesses, residents, motorists and special audiences impacted by the project. This experience parlayed nicely into Laurie’s next role as the Communications Specialist for the RTD FasTracks Public Information Team.
Through her experience, Laurie has gained the knowledge necessary to anticipate public concerns, solve problems creatively and select the best communication approaches and tools for the job.
Laurie lives in Frederick with her husband John, oldest daughter Sophia, and twins Chloe and Max.
Matt Wittern
Matt Wittern serves as a Communication Director at CIG, where he services a variety of accounts.
After graduating with a degree in journalism and technical communication with public relations minor from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Matt joined a small Denver public relations firm and gained experience in expert positioning, media relations, Web site development and investor relations.
He then joined the T-REX Project in Denver to work with the public information team during the most intense years of construction.
Following T-REX, Matt gained valuable marketing experience through his work as the Marketing Communications Manager at CollegeInvest, Colorado’s not-for-profit higher education financing resource.
It wasn’t long, however, until CIG president and CEO convinced him to join her company and the rest, as they say, is history.
Matt and his wife, Allison live in Centennial with their son Evan and beagle, Dirty Murph.
Kristi Estes
Kristi Estes serves as Communications Director at CIG and works mainly with RTD FasTracks Public Information Team.
After earning her degree in journalism from Metro State College of Denver, Kristi was Assistant Editor for College Communications, worked the sports desk at the Rocky Mountain News and later joined the T-REX Project in Denver.
Kristi’s work on T-REX was instrumental in developing mutually beneficial relationships between project executives and key community and stakeholder groups. This experience is critical today as she assists the RTD FasTracks project management team in effective communication with various publics and interests.
Kristi lives with her husband, Don and two children in Arvada.
Karen Morales
Karen Morales is the President and CEO of Communication Infrastructure Group, LLC, bringing to the company her more than 20 years of progressive experience designing, implementing and leading public relations and communication programs; media, community and employee relations efforts, crisis communication and issues management planning, and public engagement.
Karen earned her undergraduate degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of Northern Colorado and a Master’s degree in Applied Communications from the University of Denver. She carries professional Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA).
Her professional experience includes public relations strategy and communication positions on the Regional Transportation District’s (RTD) FasTracks program, Transportation Expansion (T-REX) Project contractor team, Level (3) Communications network and facilities build out, City of Thornton, Aurora Public Schools and the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA).
Karen lives with her husband, Ken in Evergreen.
